Hey everyone, I know I try to keep it to just one post each day, but sometimes that just isn’t possible. And today is one of those times.
Okay, so it isn’t as exciting and momentous as I am probably making it seem. However, it is something that I am certainly excited about. Today is the first episode of my new podcast, Just Mental Health, a podcast that explores how the law treats and mistreats mental health issues.
In this first episode, I talk about the recent mental health parity law that recently was signed into law by Governor Newsom in California. This new mental health parity law goes beyond what the Mental Health Parity Law that was passed by Congress in 2008 requires. Specifically, it requires health insurers to cover mental health conditions and treatment the same as physical health conditions. This is an important first step towards the law treating mental health equally with all the other issues considered by the law.
So if you have an extra 12 minutes or so, please check out my new mental health law podcast.
